Original and counterfeit cosmetic jar in Thailand

Thailand: Counterfeit cosmetics sold through major online marketplaces

October 2026 | Beauty & E-Commerce

Thai immigration police raided two warehouses in Samut Sakhon, discovering large quantities of suspected counterfeit cosmetics and other trademark-infringing merchandise.

According to police information reported by local media, the goods were prepared for distribution through major online shopping platforms.

Why this matters
Counterfeiters can exploit legitimate online marketplaces, promotional campaigns and established delivery networks to reach consumers.

A familiar purchasing environment does not necessarily mean the product is authentic.

Security perspective
Unique product identities, combined with digital authentication, can help brands and consumers distinguish genuine products from unauthorized copies.

When verification events are recorded, manufacturers may also identify suspicious patterns that warrant further investigation.

SmartLabels can be very appealing and also fit on luxury products like cosmetics
