ENHANCING CUSTOMIZATION AND FUNCTIONALITY
Variable Data Printing allows for the customization of printed materials by incorporating variable data such as text, images, or barcodes. In the context of labels, Variable Data Printing enables the creation of unique and personalized labels within a single print run. This technology has proven invaluable in various industries where individualized labels with specific details are required.
UNIQUE IDENTIFIERS
Why do unique print data solutions have become more important? For many applications, a unique identifier (UID) is needed, and this can only be achieved by a variable data label printing. A unique identifier is normally a QR-code or a 2D matrix code, since it is the best way to print a variable UID. UID’s are used to single out products, for the requirements given by a track & trace software, by the EPP and other similar uses.
UNIQUE CODE PRINTING
WE ARE ONE OF THE LEADING VARIABLE DATA PRINTING COMPANIES
The printing of variable 1D codes, like code 128 or 39 is also possible. But in the long run we think that most variable printing will shift to 2D codes, since they have several inherent advantages.
The variable print data solutions can be done directly onto the product or on a Pressure Sensitive Label (PSL) which is then applied onto the product. At Securikett we are specialist on variable printing on PSL and VOID PSL.

CODE QUALITY AND MANAGMENT
Generally, we must distinguish between the quality of the code and the management of the codes. What is the sequence and what kind of documentation is needed. Keeping a sequence can simplify the application tremendously. The packaging specification determine the print sequence so that after the entire production the customers receives the codes in the right order.
For example, a change in the reel size has an influence on the printing order of the codes. It is sometimes unavoidable that you have missing labels due to other production failures like registration problems, material problems etc. This means one has missing codes.
Thus, a documentation of the codes being delivered is helpful and sometimes mandatory. At Securikett, one of the leading variable data printing companies, we can fully document the printed codes and the delivered codes.
A QR or 2D matrix code is a known technology. However, it is sometimes required to “manipulate” the code for security or marketing reasons. When you see a code within integrated image for example. In this case the code is printed via a variable PDF, which means the codes are generated by a different software. To print variable PDF in a certain sequence is a very complex process and this technology is relatively new.
We, at Securikett, have gained already a good level of experience in printing variable PDFs. This means we can print all variable images that software can generate. A further application for this technology is variable graphic images needed for an anti-cloning technology. This can only be printed by variable PDFs.
The reading quality of a 2D code is determined by the size of the code (the bigger the better), the amount of information packed into the code and the mere print quality. The trade-off between these parameters must be considered during the planning phase. There are some limitations to respect i.e. the min size of a 2D code should not go below 10mm.
WHAT MAKES SECURIKETT
SMART LABELS SO SPECIAL?
PHYSICAL AND DIGITAL PROTECTION
We connect digital and physical security. Highly secure UIDs, based on cryptographic methods are combined with a variety of physical tamper-proof security features.
ITEM OR BATCH
We add data to the UIDs of the individual products within the production or packaging process. This can be done unit by unit, or batchwise.
NFC and RFID
Our secure UIDs can also be introduced in the form of a radio frequency tag, such as an RFID or NFC tag.
CODIKETT
We offer a modular and secure system for UID Issuance, data analysis, grey market detection and consumer communication - all from one single source.
