Securikett's ecological contribution to sustainable resources
Sustainability projects in energy generation and product innovations are of great importance to us since many years. Below, we have compiled a few current projects.
681 trees per year
By installing an 800 sqm. photovoltaics construction on the company building of SECURIKETT Ulrich & Horn GmbH in Münchendorf, 15 tons of CO2 are reduced every year. This corresponds to an annual planting of 681 trees.
The company facility of the family business was built in 2017 with a future photovoltaics construction anticipated during the planning phase. With our recent installation of this brand-new photovoltaics construction, 17 % of Sekurikett's annual power requirement can be covered through our own generated electricity. The facility is operating 7 days a week. Previously, the complete power requirement was sourced by 100 % green electricity produced through hydropower.
Companys electric car pool
Our commitment to sustainability is evident within the company car pool that already includes three electric cars.
The trend for sustainability and environment protection brings the Securikett product portfolio to a new level. Innovative products, such as SecurePaperSeal, a paper-based closure seal for folding packaging, are created under consideration of the 3-R-strategy (reduce, reuse and recycle) to help customers with the development of sustainable and recyclable packaging solutions. Thereby, packages should not only fulfill the requirements of a sustainable and recyclable economy, but also the requirements regarding security and traceability. The use of resource-efficient materials and innovative adhesives is of great importance to us. To ensure a holistic view of the lifecycle of a package, we have a cooperative relationship with an advanced technical college in the area of packaging solutions", says Vanessa Mitterer, MSc, head of the research and development department.
