A customer in the beauty products sector was facing a challenge: their branded products were repeatedly offered via online marketplaces at significantly lower prices than those defined in their official pricing strategy. This indicated a lack of control within the distribution network and raised concerns about unauthorized resale and grey market activities.
By using Securikett security labels with unique identifiers (UIDs) a solid foundation for traceability was created. By systematically analyzing the UID data, the customer was able to identify the distributor responsible for diverting products into online mail-order channels at discounted prices. This transparency enabled targeted corrective actions and helped restore control over the distribution chain.
The customer also planned a strategic packaging change, transitioning from plastic-based packaging to more sustainable paper-based solutions. In line with this initiative, the security seals with UIDs also needed to be converted to a paper-based material without compromising security or functionality.
The implementation of paper-based security seals with integrated UIDs was successfully completed. The new solution ensured full traceability, supported the identification of unauthorized distributors, and aligned with the customer’s sustainability goals.
