In 2003, after having finished their Executive MBA program, Marietta Ulrich-Horn and Werner Horn decided to found a new company in a future market. Werner Horn with a long-term experience in an exclusive segment the textile industry has the understanding for “brands” and Marietta Ulrich-Horn is an industry insider in high quality label printing.

We have founded Securikett, because we recognized the need to protect brand products against counterfeiting.

The production of fake products is very attractive for counterfeiters, because this business offers high return and relatively low risk. The prosecution is very difficult, and therefore the risk for the counterfeiters being caught is low. Yet, if they are caught, the penalties are rather moderate. Despite the fact that counterfeiting is, economically speaking, at least as attractive as dealing with drugs, the criminals get off lightly. For this reason, counterfeiting has become a growing business, and it even provides the funds for international terrorism.

Nevertheless, the public is hardly aware of the fact that counterfeiting of products is not a peccadillo. The danger connected with counterfeits is only recognized in health-relevant products such as medication. However, the truth is that anyone who buys a fake T-shirt is supporting organized crime.

Securikett develops labels which allow not only the experts, but also the consumers to verify whether the product is an original or not.

Labels offer incredible potential for product innovation. Furthermore, in many cases they jump into one’s eye as a cost efficient and practical solution, because tamper evidence, product traceability and authentication can also be easily combined.

Personally, I am lucky to draw from a long lasting family tradition in engraving and label printing. Therefore, it seemed natural to us to found a label printing business, focussing mainly on research and development of special labels, finding new areas for the application for labels.

Securikett is mainly focused on tamper evidence and protection against counterfeiting. We offer labels to the global market, which are difficult to copy, and already supply to all continents.
